cultivate(MD)’s Seed Funds have demonstrated strong progress and performance, and it is now time to launch our new Accelerator Fund.
This fund is born out of the significant advancements that all of our 10 portfolio companies have made. Each company’s procession to the commercial stage is driving the need for capital.
There are different risk profiles associated with companies as they approach commercialization, and this fund will provide investors with an opportunity to participate in a way that reflects this new risk and reward setting.
As we have had the opportunity to share our vision for the Accelerator Fund with both current and prospective investors, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. We currently have significant commitments from several influential new investors and are excited to see more sign on.
We intend to launch the Accelerator Fund at the end of March, with a first closing on April 20th. Similar to the Seed Fund, a unit in the Accelerator Fund is $100,000 and will be drawn in four equal installments.
We have six initial investments that we are considering for the April 20, 2021 closing. These investments include both existing cultivate(MD) portfolio companies that have recently initiated fundraising as well as new technologies that we have been meticulously evaluating over the past quarter.
